Description
Cover for the trail and for camp
The Oilskin Poncho Shelter is made for changing weather and simple camps. Its waxed cotton outer helps shed rain and block the wind, while the roomy cut leaves your arms free to move. An adjustable hood closes with a leather cord and toggle.
Pitch it when you stop
Brass eyelets let you turn the opened poncho into an overhead shelter or windbreak. Use the press studs to form sleeves on the move, or connect two ponchos for a larger covered area. It can also serve as an outer bivy cover or a wind-blocking layer beneath a hammock. Rope, poles and pegs are not included.
Traditional materials, practical packing
The unlined design weighs approximately 1 kg and folds into its own hood. Choose from five colours to suit your kit. The cotton develops a lived-in character with use and can be re-waxed when the finish needs refreshing.
Our oilskin finish uses pure beeswax and natural linseed oil. No silicones. No solvents. Allow the poncho to dry thoroughly before packing it away.
