Settle into an open camp

The Whelen is for campers who like a clear view from their shelter. Its open front and tall entrance make it comfortable to use throughout the day, while the canvas roof and sides define a generous sheltered space. It can accommodate up to four people, depending on equipment and sleeping arrangements.

A flexible shelter with room to move

The entrance stands around 2 m high, with approximately 2 m of depth and at least 2 m of width at the ridge. Thirty tie-out points let you adjust tension and shape around the support available at your campsite. There is no sewn-in floor, so you can choose your own ground cloth and bedroll arrangement.

Natural fabric, straightforward construction

We use 10 oz cotton canvas with a water-repellent finish, available in natural or forest green. The tent weighs approximately 5 kg and packs to around 40 × 40 × 10 cm. This is a shelter for a settled camp where covered space and the feel of canvas matter more than shaving off every gram.

Choose only the extras you need

Poles are not included. The Camp Kit adds wax, tarred rope and six Toledo stakes; the Confort Kit adds a King Size merino blanket and Leather Carrier. Both are optional. Every Whelen is handmade in Spain, with small variations in weight, dimensions and colour.
